Hi, my name's Greg. I'm a fine art typographer.

I paint with acrylics on metal sheeting - replicating the look and feel of early 20th century enamel signs. 

​

In my 'Rose Tinted Glasses' project I have created almost exact replicas - or indeed 'fakes' - of existing point of sale enamel signs from the early 20th century. 

 

In my ongoing 'Send me a Sign' project I use the visual language of these 'old' advertising signs to subvert our view of the modern world and the over abundance of advertisements being hot-wired into our brains 24/7 via social media.

In subtle - and sometimes not so subtle ways - they provide a commentary upon the world in which we live today.

All works - including the rust - are hand painted with acrylic on metal sheets.
